How to make rent receipts for your HRA claim

To claim House Rent Allowance (HRA) exemption, salaried employees usually need to submit rent receipts to their employer. Fill in the tenant and landlord details, the monthly rent and the period you want, and the tool builds one receipt for every month, then hands you a single PDF to download and submit.

How do I generate rent receipts for HRA?+

Is a landlord's PAN required on a rent receipt?+

If your total rent for the year is more than ₹1,00,000, your employer usually needs your landlord's PAN to allow the HRA exemption. There is an optional field for it above.

Is a revenue stamp needed on a rent receipt?+

A revenue stamp is generally required only when rent is paid in cash and a single receipt exceeds ₹5,000. Payments by UPI, bank transfer or cheque don't need a stamp because there's already a payment trail.
